Unveiling Beauty: A Poetic, Artful Motherhood Photoshoot in the greenhouse ~ Dorset.

When the greenhouse was first suggested as a potential location for this feeding photo session, I couldn’t have felt more delighted. The more meaningful the location, the better, and this space was the perfect offering of significance and art.

The hazy November sunlight cast a gentle glow over the surrounding landscape and filtered through the glass walls, creating the most beautiful delicate rays which danced on the last of the emerald foliage. I can imagine this house is bustling with lush greenery in warmer seasons, an abundance of vibrant colour and nurtured crops, but now, in this season of hibernation, a sense of quietude and introspection fills this space. Creating solace and embracing the simplicity and stillness of these slower months which seemed fitting for us on this day, and set the scene conducive to this story, as we bundled up in layers and coats.

One of the the most important parts of these sessions, as a photographer, is finding connection, gently holding space and listening to the stories that delicately unfold as we capture these moments together. The trust that lies between us is an essential part of this process and allows us to be vulnerable enough to create these honest moments. This is a visual poetry of sorts and in a world so often dominated by curated perfection, documentary photography sessions invite us to embrace the authentic, to celebrate the raw and messy moments of being human and to revel in the profound love that only motherhood brings.
