Capturing Essence: The Art of Brand Photography. Burley, Hampshire.

‘People do not buy goods and services. They buy relations, stories, and magic.’ - Seth Godin.

Brand photography should tell the story of YOU and YOUR business. It’s personal and is a way to assert your presence, share your vision, and show authenticity. This isn’t only about showcasing; it's about becoming relatable, creating genuine connection and having a lucid visual identity.

Storytelling imagery makes a huge impact in showing the personality behind the brand and crafts an emotional experience for your target audience, fostering a sense of shared values and purpose.

Here are a few of my favourite images from a recent brand shoot, in the New Forest, Dorset. I feel that, together, we really captured the essense of Lucy’s beautifully compassionate, calm, down to earth nature in this collection. The aim for me in these sessions is to create a relaxed environment in which you feel not only comfortable and confident to be yourself but also beautiful.

Lucy kindly wrote a few words on what branding images meant for her:

‘How do you capture something so heart led? I wanted photos that summed up what it is to spend time with me as a doula. Choosing a doula is so deeply personal. I work in relationship. In the most intimate and raw of transitions - tending to a rite of passage that many don’t view that way until after the fact. I need potential clients to see a glimpse of who I am, so they can begin to decide if I am the person to walk with and hold them. I needed photos and they needed to capture that my heart is among the trees, but my head is firmly on my shoulders. To capture the warmth I feel towards those I support, but also the humour I bring to conversations. It could only have been Clare.’

I am offering personal branding sessions to support women with small businesses. If you’d like to get in touch regarding your personal story, you can contact me here. I’d love to hear from you.
